BABYSITTING COURSE

Course Description

This course was designed for the 10 to 16 year old girl or boy who would like to learn more about taking care of siblings and babysitting. This course is based on the former National Safety Council BLAST Program. This course is a 6.5 hour program. The program includes the following topics: Professionalism, Leadership, Interviewing Skills, Resume Building, Problem Solving, Behavior Management, Reward vs. Punishment, Age Appropriate Play, Creative Play, Infant Care Skills; diaper changing, dressing, feeding, burping, hold and lift techniques, Safety In The Home, Basic First Aid Training and Obstructive Airway Training (choking).

Attention Girl Scouts: After completing this course, Junior Girl Scouts will have earned their First Aid Badge and Cadet Girl Scouts will only have one more requirement to earn their Badge. Congratulations!

In Case Of Emergency (I.C.E.) Program

I.C.E. is an acronym for "In Case of Emergency". 

We offer a one hour safety training program that includes education, planning and executing of the 911 procedure. We include information about using a cell phone verses a land line phone, the four questions a dispatcher will ask, planning the arrival of EMS, the importance of communication and being able to identify and describe your location to EMS, I.C.E.campaign, how GPS really works and the chaperon program from Verizon. Each participant will receive an I.C.E.sticker for their cellular device. Contact us for more information.
