PROTECTING YOUR BUSINESS AND EMPLOYEES

Authorities in both RI and MA have confirmed that the Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course meets requirements of regulated childcare providers.

Rhode Island:     You can visit DCYF on line at: http://www.dcyf.ri.gov/

Massachusetts:    You can visit EEC on line at: http://www.eec.state.ma.us/ . EEC would like us to remind childcare providers who work in Massachusetts must renew their CPR credential annually.

CPR & First Aid Training for Childcare Providers

This new course is designed for anyone who might need to respond to a pediatric first aid emergency (due to job or regulatory requirements) and require a course completion credential.

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course shows individuals how to manage a pediatric injury or illness until professional help arrives. Contains six modules: first aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, and two optional modules addressing first aid and CPR/AED use (which are designed to meet regulations for childcare centers).

Our program comes with the Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Quick Reference Guide, an Adult CPR & AED reminder card, a Child and Infant CPR & AED reminder card, and a CD with supplemental information and video clips for keeping skills sharp.

Safety in School and Community

Public attention often focuses on school violence.  However, studies indicate that school-age children are nine times more likely to sustain an unintentional injury than to be the victim of an intentional injury while at school.

Playgrounds are associated with the majority of injuries among elementary school students.  Athletics, including both physical education classes and organized sports, account for the majority of injuries among secondary school students.

Safety Trainers is currently a provider of three programs specifically designed to keep our children safe both in the school and community: Safety Trainers will add NFPA's Risk Watch® to its program list in 2009.
